Experiences like hallucinations or flashbacks can be deeply personal and difficult to put into words. Fear of being misunderstood may also limit sharing. What helps you communicate your experience clearly? How can listeners respond in a more understanding way?

Experiences like hallucinations or flashbacks can be hard to explain because they’re very personal and sometimes confusing even to the person experiencing them. I don't get them but I believe writing things down beforehand can make it easier to communicate. For listeners, the most helpful response is patience and openness. Instead of judging or immediately trying to “fix” the situation, it helps to listen carefully, ask respectful questions, and acknowledge the person’s experience.
