Why Some People Feel Anxious After Good News

Celebrating achievements should feel good, but some experience post-success anxiety—fear of expectations, impostor syndrome, or even waiting for something to go wrong. This phenomenon, often linked to perfectionism or past trauma, can turn joy into stress. How can we embrace success without letting fear overshadow it?

Some people have always had disappointment after something started out positive. In a twist of fate, everything just collapses and the good news turns to disappointment. People that have such experience would always have anxiety when the receive good news instead of excitement. It is just fear of the good news changing to bad news. For me, I don't break news that is not completely established to them.

I have personally been in a situation where good news got me anxious. Mine was the weight of expectations that would be on me at that next level that made me to feel anxious. For some others, they just never really experienced something good in their life and they feel that they are undeserving of that good news.
