Some teens report “zoning out,” memory gaps, or feeling disconnected from their body or surroundings. This can be a coping mechanism for overwhelming stress or trauma. How can caregivers tell dissociation from daydreaming or distraction? What interventions help teens reconnect without causing more anxiety?

I think dissociation symptoms like feeling detached from reality, zoning out, or memory gaps are rising in teens, often linked to chronic stress, overstimulation from digital devices, and trauma. Early recognition, supportive environments, and mental health care are important to prevent long-term impact.
