Are millennials often toxic in their positivity?

There are some millennials who are usually toxic in their positivity. We say we are okay, but in reality, we are not. I realized that it is not healthy to hold back your feelings, as it can make your anxiety worse. There are times when I say, "Just think positive," or, "Just go with the flow," but I realized that it really does not help at times. It is a good idea to admit that you are not okay and think of ways to feel better. What do you think?

Sometimes, yes. Positivity can turn toxic when it dismisses real stress, burnout, or structural problems. Among some millennials, the push to “stay grateful” or “hustle harder” can silence honest struggle. Optimism helps, but only when it leaves room for frustration and vulnerability too.

Some millennials do lean into overly positive attitudes that can feel dismissive, especially when they use phrases like “just stay positive” or “everything happens for a reason.” It sometimes ignores real struggles people face. But this isn’t true for everyone. Many millennials are actually open about mental health and supportive in a grounded way. The issue is more about pressure to “seem okay” than the generation itself.
