Are there any conditions that can go undiagnosed?

Are there any mental health conditions that often go overlooked? Maybe even undiagnosed? I figure we all have mental conditions we don't even know about, maybe it lives dormant in us, or it doesn't affect us like some others. But are there any conditions that can go unchecked for years or even a lifetime? Like, are there some conditions we'll never know we even had?

Yeah, I think a lot of those conditions go unnoticed. I’ve met people who only found out they had ADHD as adults and it’s the same with anxiety, they just thought it was stress.

Yes, conditions like mild anxiety, dysthymia, ADHD in adults, or high-functioning autism often go undiagnosed for years. Symptoms can be subtle, masked by coping strategies, or mistaken for personality traits, meaning some people may never realize they had a mental health condition until much later—or even never.

Definitely, a lot of conditions remain undiagnosed over years. ADHD, anxiety, or thyroid conditions can be very well unnoticed as the symptoms are more or less the same or probably appear insignificant. In some cases, they are not noticed by doctors, or individuals and they simply learn to live with them without noticing that something is wrong. Frequent checkups can help to spot those things early.
