Anxiety can make people question whether a friend is upset, losing interest, or secretly judging them. They may look for changes in messages or conversations that others barely notice. How can anxiety affect trust in friendships, and what helps someone avoid turning uncertainty into unnecessary conflict?

I’ve noticed that anxiety can make small things between friends feel bigger than they are. If someone takes longer to reply or seems quieter, you might start wondering if they’re upset with you. It can make trusting people harder. Thankfully, this hasn't occurred to me too frequently

Sometimes anxiety makes a small change in a friendship feel much bigger than it really is. A friend taking longer to reply can quickly turn into thoughts like, “Are they annoyed with me?” I think it helps to pause, avoid assuming the worst, and talk openly instead of reacting to the fear.
