Some teenagers become frustrated when parents suggest therapy, counseling, or other mental health support. They may feel judged or believe adults are exaggerating their problems. How can parents introduce treatment without turning every conversation into an argument, especially when a teenager clearly needs support but does not want to accept it?

I think parents need patience when a teenager refuses mental health treatment. Pushing too hard can make them more resistant, so listening to their concerns might be a better starting point. Giving teens some choices about who they talk to or how they receive support could also help.
