Emotional fatigue doesn't always feel dramatic. Sometimes it shows up as low patience, poor concentration, or feeling disconnected. What are the first signs that tell you it's time to slow down?

Low patience is usually one of the first signs I notice. Small things start bothering me more than usual, and concentrating on simple tasks becomes harder. Another sign is losing interest in things I normally enjoy. When several of these show up together, it usually means it’s time to take a break.

For me, it usually starts with feeling tired even after getting enough rest. I also become less patient, have trouble focusing, and don’t feel like talking much. When normal tasks start feeling unnecessarily exhausting, that’s usually when I realize I need to slow down and give myself some breathing room.

I know I’m emotionally drained when my patience disappears and even small things start irritating me. I also have trouble concentrating and lose interest in things I normally enjoy. Wanting to withdraw from people is another big sign. When I notice these changes, I take them seriously and slow down.
