According to studies, schizophrenia tends to only appear in individuals from the age of 16 all the way until 30. In rare cases people have been known to get symptoms later on in life, from 40 to 60. Interestingly enough it seems that males tend to get symptoms sooner than females with males typically getting diagnosed in their early 20s and females in their late 20's. I can't imagine being diagnosed later in life though, it's got to be tough going through most of your life without symptoms and then all of a sudden they appear.
