Why do family expectations sometimes increase stress instead of support?

Do you feel pressure to act “normal” or meet expectations even when you are struggling internally? How do you communicate your limits to family without creating conflict?

Family expectations can add stress when they start to feel like pressure instead of guidance. Even if they come from care, they can create a sense of obligation, fear of disappointing others, or comparison with siblings or peers.
Instead of feeling supported, a person may feel constantly evaluated, which makes everyday decisions heavier and harder to enjoy.
