Do you ever feel some movies misrepresent depression?

Generally, it's believed that what we see in movies and TV shows is but a representation of what's happening in our world. I think to some extent that's true but not always all of the time.

Have you ever watched movies where how depression works is presented? Do you think it's well represented or totally wrong?

Some movies portray depression as simply being sad, constantly crying, or having one dramatic breakdown. Real depression can be much quieter, showing up as numbness, exhaustion, irritability, withdrawal, or difficulty doing everyday things. I think more realistic portrayals would help people recognize it earlier.

I’ve watched a few movies that try to show depression, and some feel surprisingly realistic while others make it look much more obvious than it really is. In real life, someone can laugh, work, and socialize while still struggling internally. I think movies sometimes miss that quieter side of depression.
